Drax X Thanos
Director James Gunn responded to a netizen, via Twitter, who asked why Drax never faced Thanos in the MCU. In Guardians of the Galaxymainly, it is mentioned several times that Drax is obsessed with revenge against Thanos, for the death of his family.
However, the promise of a confrontation between the two never materialized. Actor Dave Bautista even expressed disappointment with this.
In response to this question, Gunn wrote, “I only wrote one scene with Thanos, in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1. You have to ask someone else that question. “
in reality @James Gunn if you can answer this question, we would all be grateful to you.
How come Drax never got to face Thanos?
There has been a lot of talk about it and it has been built since 2014, but have we never seen Drax take on Thanos?
– Guardians Vol. 3 (May 5, 2023) (@ GOTG_VOL3) August 31, 2022
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, due out in theaters on May 5, 2023, the infamous group of misfits look a little different these days. Peter Quill, still upset by the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe, as well as protect one of his gods. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could most likely lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.
A Christmas special is also in development and the director has already stated that this is the best work of his career. For now, the production is still without a fixed date and will be shown on Disney +.
