Netflix would advance its schedule to launch the cheapest advertising plan in November, aiming to arrive before the Disney + advertising plan.
In July, Netflix announced to its investors that it would seek to launch the ad-funded plan “around early 2023”. But these plans seem to have changed.
According to information from Variety, streaming has decided to take things forward and arrive on November 1st in several countries, including the US, Canada, UK, France, and Germany. There is no information if the list of countries is longer than these five, nor if Brazil would be in the middle of this first version.
The idea behind the change would be that the plan comes before the Disney + advertising plan, which is expected to debut on December 8th. Netflix, on the other hand, would have declined to comment on the matter. “We are still in the early stages of deciding how to launch a cheaper, ad-supported tier and no decision has been made,” a company representative told Variety.
