Actress Pauley Perrette, who played the character of Abby Sciuto on “NCIS” for 15 years until her departure in 2018, revealed this weekend that she recently faced serious health problems.
In a post posted on Twitter, she detailed her struggle, revealing that she had a severe stroke exactly one year ago.
“A year ago I had a severe stroke. First I lost my family and dear friends, Dad and then cousin Wayne. However, I am a survivor after this traumatic life I have been given so far … And I am still so grateful , still so full of faith and STILL HERE! ” she posted
Perrette shared a video of herself along with the post, in which she said, “Oh my God, it’s the one year anniversary since I’ve had a stroke and I’m still here.”
“Yes, I’m still here again, how many times do I cheat death?” she continued, stating that he too nearly died of “hair dye allergy” and was a victim of rape and assault.
She did not go into details, but this assault is known to have taken place behind the scenes of the series and was responsible for her departure, even though she is the most popular performer on “NCIS”.
In 2019, months after leaving the show, she said on Twitter that she was terrified of Mark Harmon, the lead in the production. She suggested that she was attacked by him and that she, after reporting him, was fired from the show.
After her departure from “NCIS”, Perrette starred in the sitcom “Broke”, which only lasted one season. After the cancellation in 2020, she announced that she officially retired from acting.

A year ago I had a big appetite.
Before that I have lost so many beloved family and friends,
And dad
And then
cousin Wayne
Yet I am still a survivor after this traumatic life that has been given to me so far …
And still so grateful,
Still so full of faith,
IS STILL HERE! pic.twitter.com/psHokwiHij
