The second and final ceremony of the so-called Creative Arts Emmy 2022, held Sunday evening (3/9) in Los Angeles, was dominated by three series: “Euphoria” and “White Lotus”, by HBO, and “Stranger Things”. “., from Netflix. Each of them has won five awards, the same amount won by the documentary series” The Beatles: Get Back “, on Disney +, and the special” Adele: One Night Only “, on CBS, in the early evening. award ceremony, held on Saturday (3/3) .9).

Netflix’s South Korean phenomenon “Round 6” followed, with four wins, the same number of Netflix animated “Arcane” the night before.

The best guests of the comedy series were Nathan Lane for “Only Murders in the Building” and Laurie Metcalf for “Hacks”. Veteran of the awards, Lane won his first Emmy after being nominated six times in the same category for other series – from “Frasier” in 1995 to “Modern Family” in 2014 – while Metcalf added his fourth Emmy, after three wins. in the 1990s as a supporting actress in the sitcom “Roseanne”.

The trophies for the best cast went to “Succession”, “Abbott Elementary” and “The White Lotus”, respectively in the categories of the Drama, Comedy and Anthology series. Two of those trophies were expected, but “Abbott Elementary” was a surprise, beating the favorite “Only Murders on the Building”. It is worth noting that the two series are shown in Brazil by Star +, but while “Only Murders” has extensive advertising and marketing, “Abbott Elementary” did not receive a subtitled trailer from the platform for its national release.

This Sunday’s awards closed the roughly 90 preliminary Emmy categories, before delivering the top 27 awards.

For now, the HBO / HBO Max duo have scored a total of 25 wins over the two evenings of ceremonies held at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles, gaining an advantage over Netflix, which ended with 19 wins in total.

With the Television Academy Awards totaling 119 categories, the Emmy is divided into three evenings. The first two evenings are dedicated to technical trophies, animations, documentaries, variety specials and reality shows, and took place this weekend.
