The film mars onein Gabriel Martinswill represent Brazil in the category Best International Film (former foreigner) at the ceremony of Oscar 2023. The choice came after an online meeting of the Brazilian Academy of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts, on the morning of this Monday 5th. There were five other preselected in the dispute.

In all, 28 feature films were recorded and qualified to compete for the vacancy and, for the first time, the elections were held in two rounds.

by the rules of Hollywood Academy, the deadline for entries for all Oscar categories is November 15th. A preliminary list of finalists will be announced towards the end of the year on 21 December. The final announcement of the Oscar nominees will be made on January 24, 2023, and the ceremony is scheduled for Sunday March 12 in Los Angeles.
