Globo would end “As Five” after five years

Globo would have concluded the “As Five” saga. The recordings of the 3rd season of the series concluded on Saturday (3/9) and the entire team has already been released.

According to information from sources close to the production, the plot would leave no room for a continuation, ending the story of the five friends who met in high school and reunited in early adulthood.

This would be, among other things, the reason behind the termination of Cao Hamburger’s contract with the broadcaster. The writer and creator of “As Five” wrote two seasons and had no contract renewal.

The youth series is derived from “Malhação: Viva a Diferença”, an Emmy Kids International award-winning attraction. But his approach is much more adult, showing what happens to the “Five”, the five protagonists of the original story: Benê (Daphne Bozaski), Ellen (Heslaine Vieira), Keyla (Gabriela Medvedovski), Lica (Manoela Aliperti) and Tina ( Ana Hikari) -, after each following a different path at the end of the original story, which aired between 2017 and 2018, and recently replicated on Rede Globo.

So far, only the first season of “As Five” has been shown, which premiered in November 2020. Despite being ready, the second season will only premiere in 2023 at a yet to be revealed date. And the 3rd was recorded entirely without public repercussions on the second year.

In the unreleased episodes, one of the novelties will be the love triangle formed by Ellen (Heslaine Vieira), Lica (Manoela Aliperti) and Maura (Tamirys O’hanna). The two friends will be interested in the girl, who is Ellen’s colleague.
