Disney + has released the national poster and trailer for “Disenchanted”, the long-awaited sequel to “Enchanted” (2007), which returns to bring Amy Adams as Princess Giselle. But something goes terribly wrong – or very right – when she makes a wish on a magical well, wishing her life would be a fairy tale again.
For those who don’t remember, the original comedy was an accurate, entertaining and successful satire on Disney princess cartoons, showing the harsh reality shock one of these princesses suffered as she emerged in modern New York City today. . Giselle has a reality check after discovering the disenchanted lives of ordinary people. But that doesn’t stop her from falling in love with an average New Yorker (Patrick Dempsey), even with Prince Charming (James Marsden) coming to her rescue.
The sequel sees the original film’s couple with children and happy, but not forever, as their move to a new home in the suburbs proves tragic. But the situation gets worse when Giselle wants everything to become magical. Changes caused by her desire include her role as the stepmother of Dempsey’s teenage daughter, a detail that makes her, like a typical Disney fairy tale, the Evil Queen.
Director Adam Shankman (“Rock of Ages: The Movie”) is responsible for directing the new film, which was written by J. David Stem and David N. Weiss (double the live-action version of “The Smurfs” and its sequel).
The premiere is scheduled for November 24 in streaming.
