Lucasfilm: All Star Wars and Indiana Jones Ads at D23 Expo

This Saturday (10) took place another day of the D23 Expo event, which presented news on major productions from different Disney sectors, and Lucasfilm was not left out.

At the event, which took place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, new images were announced and presented, some released globally and others exclusive to attendees.

The event was hosted by Walt Disney Studios president Alan Bergman and Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, was in attendance to attend the event.

“As you can see, there is a huge amount of exciting new Star Wars stories coming from Lucasfilm. The quality, creativity and variety these teams are bringing to Disney + is extraordinary and I can’t wait for everyone to experience them all, ”said Kennedy.

In addition to Lucasfilm content, D23 Expo had announcements on Marvel Studios productions, Disney and Pixar productions, and more.

The long-awaited “Andor” series, which will have 24 episodes focusing on one of the main characters of the acclaimed “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” film, was well represented at the D23 Expo. On stage next to Kennedy were Genevieve O’Reilly, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona and Cassian Andor himself, Diego Luna.

There, the character posters and the final trailer for the series (above) were revealed, which was shot over two seasons of 12 episodes. The events of “Andor” begin five years before “Rogue One” and show Cassian’s trajectory to become a rebel hero.

“Andor” is coming to Disney +, with the first three episodes due out on September 21st.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch – Season 2

Kennedy welcomed executive producer Dave Filoni to the D23 Expo stage to comment on other Lucasfilm productions for Disney +. Among them was “The Bad Batch”, which will win a second season on the platform.

A new image from the series was unveiled, with Season 2 focusing on events taking place months after Season 1, with Bad Batch following their journey through the Empire following the fall of the Republic.

During the event, it was revealed that “The Bad Batch” season 2 will arrive on Disney + in a double episode on January 4, 2023.

Star Wars: Stories of the Jedi

“Stories of the Jedi” will consist of six new animated shorts, which will tell parables about the prequel Jedi era. The short film series will center on Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooki, who will be tested as they make choices that will define their respective fates.

The official trailer for the Lucasfilm series was shown by Filoni during the D23 Expo, and it was announced that all six shorts will arrive on October 26 on Disney +.

Ahsoka

After being created in 2008 in the animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and making live action in “The Mandalorian”, the character Ahsoka will have her own live-action series on Disney +, starring Rosario Dawson.

Jon Favreau, executive producer of the series, joined Filoni on stage, where he talked about the project and shared the first images of the series with the audience. Set after the fall of the Empire, the series will follow former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as he investigates an emerging threat in a vulnerable galaxy.

“Ahsoka” arrives on Disney + in 2023.

Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew

The event was also attended by “Skeleton Crew”, with the participation of Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, the creators of the series who joined Favreau and Filoni to comment on the production, which will soon arrive on Disney +. In addition to them, Jude Law also appeared during the surprise event, who will be present in the series.

“Skeleton Crew” tells the story of four children who find themselves lost in the vastness of the galaxy trying to find their way home.

The Mandalorian – Season 3

“The Mandalorian” executive producer Rick Famuyiwa joined Favreau and Filoni on stage at D23 Expo to discuss the Lucasfim production. Next to them were the stars of the series Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff, Amy Sedaris, Giancarlo Esposito and Emily Swallow.

The group presented the trailer for the third season to the public. In this new installment of the series, the Mandalorian and Grogu reunite to continue their journey across the galaxy. The third season of “The Mandalorian” will premiere in 2023 on Disney +.

Willow

The new live-action fantasy adventure series “Willow” was announced by Kennedy at D23 Expo. Kennedy introduced Warwick Davis (Willow Ufgood), who shared his joy of returning to Andowyne ahead of the entry of series stars Joanne Whalley (Sorsha), Ruby Cruz (Kit), Erin Kellyman (Jade), Ellie Bamber ( Dove), Dempsey Bryk (Airk), Amar Chadha-Patel (Boorman) and Tony Revolori (Graydon). Christian Slater was also welcomed on stage as a cast member, a surprise to the fans in attendance.

“Willow” also has a new trailer, which can be seen above, which shows more about the magical world of elves, sorcerers, trolls and mystical creatures created by George Lucas and Ron Howard. The series will tell the story of an unlikely group of heroes who embark on a dangerous mission, confronting their inner demons and uniting to save the world.

The “Willow” series arrives on Disney + on November 30th.

Indiana Jones 5

Last but not least, at D23 Expo there was talk of another Lucasfilm production outside the Star Wars universe: “Indiana Jones 5”. “I couldn’t leave without talking about another project we worked on a lot at Lucasfilm: Indiana Jones,” said Kennedy. “I am thrilled to welcome our director, James Mangold to the stage.”

The director unveiled new details on the film and a promotional video for the fifth film in the series. Harrison Ford also joined Mangold on stage, along with Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Ford was moved on stage when he said, “Thank you for making these films such an amazing experience for all of us. I am very proud to say that this film is fantastic and [Waller-Bridge] It is one of the reasons for this ”.

“Indiana Jones movies are about fantasy and mystery, but also about the heart,” continued the actor. “I’m really, really happy that we have a truly human story to tell, as well as a film that will blow everyone away.”

“Indiana Jones 5” will be released in theaters on June 30, 2023.
