Netflix has released the first trailer for “Exception”, a space horror anime. The preview features the beautiful visuals of the attraction, which mix traditional and 3D animation, while also raising some of the questions that drive the series, such as “what is consciousness?”, “What is a human being?” and “what is life?”

The plot of “Exception” takes place in the distant future, after humanity has been expelled from Earth and forced to move its population to another galaxy. In this new reality, members of a reconnaissance team are sent to search for a planet suitable for terraforming.

The entire crew is created using a biological 3D printer. However, the malfunction of the system causes one of the members, Lewis, to appear in a misshapen state and begin to confront the other crew members, including the “normal” version of himself.

“Exception” was written by Hirotaka Adachi, aka Otsuichi (“Ultraman Jîdo”), and the first episode was directed by Yûzô Satô (“Hunter x Hunter: Red Ghost”). The soundtrack for the series is composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto, a veteran Japanese composer who won an Oscar for his work on “The Last Emperor” (1987) – and most recently composed the score for “The Revenant” (2015). ).

The premiere is scheduled for October 13 on Netflix.
