On the way to King’s Landing, Rhaenyra and Ser Christon Cole discuss the deck of Viserys’ predictable displeasure after he dismisses all his suitors. And then, out of nowhere, a dragon lands and nearly capsizes the boat. Yes, Game of Thrones fans, you’ll remember that nearly 200 years before Daenerys, all of this was commonplace.

In the crowded throne room, Viserys prepares for a public audience. But with whom? With a demon, of course! He steps forward, sporting a new (very 80s) haircut. So he was the one who drove his dragon like a dragon.

He starts with a favor: a sword that he throws on the ground to add to the throne. A delicate gift. And against all odds, he bends the knee and pledges his allegiance to the king, his brother. In the middle of the night, Viserys calls his wife Alicent into his room. It is simple. The demon is also in the mood to let his needs do the talking. He takes his niece to a luxury house where everyone indulges in their fantasies. In revenge, Viserys frees the demon and orders it to return to the valley where his wife lives.

Back in his quarters, Viserys is disappointed. But Alicent assures him that the demon lied that Rhaenyra had not sinned. Renira is summoned by her father. He teaches her about her dating and responsibilities. And he finishes telling her about his destiny: marrying Laenor Velarion, son of Lord Corliss, a purely political decision. It accepts one condition.

A little later, Viserys takes Otto Hightower personally. He confronts her about personal interests: getting her daughter into the hands of the king. At this Viserys removes the title of Hand of the King.

Later that evening, Renira receives the Grand Maester in her room, who has come to bring her a homemade potion. A drink that avoids the “unwanted state”, translation: morning after pill.
