Abbott Elementary: Season 2 Trailer Highlights Emmy Wins

The American network ABC has released the poster and trailer for the second season of “Abbott Elementary”, already highlighting in the video call that the series is an Emmy winner.

The series won three Television Academy trophies: Best Casting, Supporting Actress (Sheryl Lee Ralph) and Screenplay (by its creator Quinta Brunson) for Comedy.

Also named Best Series of the Year by the US TV Critics Association (TCA), “Abbott Elementary” is a workplace comedy that uses the narrative gimmick of the fake documentary “The Office.” The difference between the two series is that instead of an office, the new attraction’s workplace is a public primary school.

The production brings Tyler James Williams (Chris from “Everybody Hates Chris”) back to sitcoms as a rookie teacher, who when he starts work discovers that improvisation marks daily school life. Thanks to the documentary resource, the episodes also allow social comments on the difficulties encountered by idealistic teachers in the face of a policy that dedicates little funds to the education of poor children.

The series was created and starred by Quinta Brunson (“A Black Lady Sketch Show”), who plays the main story teacher, and the cast also includes Janelle James (“Black Monday”), Chris Perfetti (“The Night of “) and Lisa Ann Walter (” The Last Night “).

Highly acclaimed by critics, the production has a 98% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is available in Brazil from Star +.

New episodes premiered on September 21st.
