The previous edition rewarded magic and the best age
The two publications that secured the best places in the first edition of the Geek Literature Prize brought very different styles to the table.
In the Comics category, the winning work was milk tooth, by Igor Frederico and Patrick Martins. Her story tells the story of an elderly woman trapped in a domestic routine, which is slowly killing her. The comic makes use of themes such as abandonment and existential anguish.
In the Books category, the winner was Emanoel Ferreira with The secret police for magical crimes. The author takes famous references like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson, but brings that twist of having a Brazilian as the protagonist. The character finds himself in the midst of spells and frightening crimes.
Both publications are available on the Kindle Store. Its printed versions are in presale from the publisher Pipoca & Nanquim.
Amazon will donate R $ 34,000 in prizes to those who publish Kindle comics and fiction
