Universal has released the first poster for “Violent Night”, a film in which actor David Harbor (“Stranger Things”) plays a violent Santa Claus.
In the storyline, a team of elite mercenaries invade a family’s home on Christmas Eve, taking everyone hostage. However, they are surprised by Santa Claus (Harbor), who decides to show them what he does with bad boys.
During the CinemaCon event, David Harbor compared “Violent Night” to “Die Hard” (1988), another film that takes place over Christmas.
The cast also includes John Leguizamo (“John Wick”), Beverly D’Angelo (“Entourage”), Alex Haskell (“Cowboy Bebop”), Alexis Louder (“Crossfire”), Edi Patterson (“The Righteous Gemstones”) and Cam Gigandet (“Twilight”).
The screenplay was written by duo Pat Casey and Josh Miller (both of “Sonic: The Movie”), and directed by Tommy Wirkola (“Zombie in the Snow”).
“Violent Night” will be released in US theaters on December 2, but does not yet have a release date in Brazil.
