Viewers will discover two new episodes of the detective series Mariana on France 2 tonight. In this case they find Marilou Berry, who lends her qualities to the atypical investigating magistrate Marian Vauban for new surprising cases.
Loosely adapted from the documentary Neither Judge nor Submit, the mini-series created by Franck Magnier and Alexandre Charlot puts a feisty outspoken woman in front of the stage, and in somewhat different ways. Throughout the episodes, the investigating magistrate must immerse himself in a completely amazing world, such as country dances or even cabaret.
During the long filming of the series in Toulon, Marilou Berry had a rather unusual misfortune. In the early episodes, Mariana’s habit that you might not miss is eating too many chocolate eclairs and yelling, “A chocolate eclair, a spark of genius.“
The actress told us that during the day she really had to swallow a lot of cookies, which is why she somewhat hated dessert: “I already really disliked this cake, but now I can tell you that I haven’t been ready to eat it for a long time!“- he confided.
And that’s not all, because Marilu Berry suffered a serious attack in the liver, which could interfere with the shooting: “Also, I ate a dozen chocolate eclairs on set that same day and had a liver attack. I honestly believed I wasn’t going to recover from it, I felt so bad. After this event, the directors were very angry with themselves.“
The incident also prompted them to change their method to avoid a new medical problem for the star actor of the series: “Then we decided to shoot the scenes differently so that I didn’t have to eat so much. I can say that this is one of my worst memories from filming.“- he added.
Fortunately, apart from this bad patch, Marilou Berry has very good memories on the set of the series with actors Alexander Steiger (Raphael Pastor in the series) and Stephan Pezerat (who plays Yves, the clerk).
He also had a lot of fun playing in Mariana’s office, the scenes of which are among his favorites: “I had great pleasure in embodying the knowledge of the administrative side, Marianna, which is most often shown in this setting. Defendants, who sometimes come in just to make a suggestion, are also great.“- he explained. “Then I got the impression that each scene shot in this environment is like a short film.“
If Marilou Berry remembers the Marianne shooting incident, that’s not stopping her from wanting to play the examining magistrate again for the new season, which might still require eating copious amounts of eclairs. chocolate…
