Actor Joseph Morgan (Klaus of “The Originals”) has entered the second season of science fiction “Halo”, a series based on the Xbox game of the same name, shown on Paramount +.

The announcement also marked the start of filming for the new episodes in Iceland.

Morgan will play James Ackerson, a formidable intelligence agent who has spent his career climbing the secret service ranks of the United Nations Space Command (UNSC).

In addition to him, the new season will see Cristina Rodlo (“Nobody gets out alive”) as Talia Perez, a UNSC Marine recruit with no combat experience and expert in linguistics.

In development for nearly a decade, the series featured an inaugural season filled with visual effects and various creative freedoms from the source material, to tell humanity’s struggle against an alien alliance. Among the main novelties is the fact that the super soldier Master Chief, the protagonist of the game released in 2001, appears without his helmet, which in the games he never takes off.

The series stars Pablo Schreiber (“American Gods”) as Master Chief, and the cast also includes Natascha McElhone (“Designated Survivor”), Bokeem Woodbine (“Spider-Man: Homecoming”), Shabana Azmi (“I midnight children “), Yerin Ha (” Reef Break “), Bentley Kalu (” Edge of Tomorrow “), Natasha Culzac (” MIB: Men in Black – International “), Kate Kennedy (from the TV movie” A Midsummer Night’s Dream “), Olive Gray (” Save Me “) and Charlie Murphy (” Peaky Blinders “).

The most impressive name, however, is that of Steven Spielberg, producer of the attraction through his company Amblin, who took the adaptation from the role after several comings and goings.

Season 2 doesn’t have a release date yet.

Joseph Morgan will also soon be seen in season 4 of “Titans”, where he will play the comic book villain Brother Blood.
