The James Bond franchise, which began in the 1960s, now has 25 films, all directed by men. When asked by Deadline, Sam Mendes, who is responsible for Skyfall and Spectre, believes that as the character must evolve, the same applies to the technical team.

We’re reinventing who he is, and that takes time. I would say that filming will take place in at least two years.”
