Perfection without limits.” This September 20th, the opera reopens its doors at OCS for a much-anticipated second season. And the least we can say is that the tone of this new chapter is laid out in its trailer, virtuosic and rhythmic. Released just over a year ago, the first season of this series created by Cécile Ducrocq (Ten Percent, Office of Legends) took us behind the scenes of the prestigious Opéra Garnier to the fate of 3 characters.

We are introduced to Zoe (Arianne Labed), Flora (Susie Bemba) and Sebastien (Raphael Personaz). The first is a star dancer with a glittering career caught up in her excesses, who fights against the establishment to avoid being fired. Flora, on the other hand, is a young black dancer who has just joined the corps de ballet, as Raphael Personazzi plays the ambitious new dance director who sets out to shake up some of the house’s codes.

Captivating and allowing us to penetrate the mysteries of a world we all know, but which is beyond our reach, these first 8 episodes bring together tutus and sublime ballets with fascinating connections and psychological journeys. Real success was awarded at the Colcoa Festival 2021 (prize for the best series) and Festival Series Mania 2021 (prize for the best actress for Ariane Labed), which therefore returns this year with completely new challenges.

Here we find the institution in complete mutation with departures, returns, but also and above all with the arrival of a new ballet mistress: Diane Thailandie. Perfectly portrayed by Ana Alvaro, this dance legend considers Zoë his daughter and mentors Flora. A kind woman on the outside, but who quickly reveals her true nature, between extreme methods, emotional blackmail and psychological manipulation.

In addition to this new character, season 2 of L’Opéra is an opportunity to discover Roque Rodríguez as the ambitious young dancer Pablo, but also Loic Corbery as the comedic Frenchman Alec Anderson, the first violinist. An opera whose fate will be connected with the fate of Zoe. Let the show begin!
