‘Interview with the vampire’: First trailer for the series

Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson lead the cast of the series, which is coming soon to AMC+.

AMC+ has just released the long-awaited first trailer for ‘Interview with the vampirero’, a television series that adapts, this time for the small screen, the successful novel by Anne Rice, who died in December 2021. On this occasion, Sam Reid will give life to the new Lestat, while the actor Jacob Anderson has been chosen to play Louis de Pointe du Lac, the unlucky 18th-century plantation owner who becomes a creature of the night (and whom most of us remember with the face of Brad Pitt). The fiction, made up of eight episodes, is scheduled to premiere in the coming months.

Sensual and contemporary reinvention of Anne Rice’s revolutionary gothic novel, follows the epic story of love, blood and immortality of Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and Claudia (Bailey Bass), reported to the journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogsian). Suffering from the constraints of life as a black man in early 20th century New Orleans, Louis can’t resist the rakish Lestat’s offer of ultimate escape by becoming his vampire companion. However, Louis’s intoxicating new powers come with a violent price and the arrival of Claudia, Lestat’s child vampire, will set them on a decades-long journey of revenge and atonement.

Anderson, the new Louis, is well known for having played Gray Worm in ‘Game of Thrones’.

AMC’s adaptation of the novel comes after the network acquired eighteen of his novels in 2020, with plans to turn them all into a wide-ranging television franchise overseen by Mark Johnson. Allan Taylor, a ‘Game of Thrones’ alum alongside Anderson, has been hired to direct the first two episodes of the series, as well as joining the executive producing team.

The ‘Interview…’ series was created and written by Rollin Joneswho will also serve as showrunner and executive producer.
