The Fairies of Destiny: The Winx Saga is back on Netflix for a second season, available from September 16. In the new episodes of the live-action story of the popular animated series, Bloom and his friends face great danger in Alfea, a fairy-tale boarding house in another world.
As Headmistress Rosalind maintains order and hides dark secrets, bloodthirsty wizards infiltrate the school to exact revenge on the fairies and Rosalind. We find out that it was Sebastian who arranged everything to capture Bloom’s dragon fire, which would give him access to the artifact that can revive his people from Aster Del.
In order to save his friends from Sebastian and his scrapers (creatures that absorb the power of fairies and kill them), Bloom agrees to give his Dragon Flame to the witch. But Beatrix intervenes and sacrifices herself to save the day. In the end, Stella, Aisha, and Terra help Bloom destroy Sebastian by accessing their transformation.
Before he was killed, Sebastian told Bloom part of his story. His mother also wielded dragon fire and was a hero during the Ancient War. Before he loses control and kills thousands of people.
Bloom’s guilt-ridden mother placed him in stress for 1,000 years when he was born to prevent him from bearing the burden of fire and exiled to the Shadow Realm. Sebastian assumes that Bloom’s parents are dead, but the young fairy has a strange vision of the Shadow Realm.
That is why, after the battle in Alfea, he decides to leave his friends and school and go to the Shadow Realm through the portal created by Sebastian. According to him, the only way to save everyone is to cut him off from the Shadow Realm. By going there, Bloom also hopes for answers to his origins.
And the young fairy reaches the tower she saw in her visions to find someone she thinks is…her mother! But is it really possible? His parents died hundreds of years ago. Except when his mother found a way to stay alive during the exile.
We’ll have to wait for a potential third season to find out if Bloom has found her mother, or if the young fairy will take advantage of her time in the Shadow Realm to find answers to her questions and fully master the Dragon Flame. .
