After the first photos, the trailer! The remake of “Hellraiser” is expected in the US in October. The images reveal a darker film than ever before.
It all starts with a mechanical object and its many configurations. When the cube puzzle is complete, the Hellraiser opens its doors and hell can begin. Twenty-five years after Clive Barker’s classic, David Bruckner’s remake (La Prey d’une ombre, Le Rituel) arrives!
After the first promised images, the trailer finally reveals the new Pinhead in action. Actor Jamie Clayton, seen in Sense8 and The L Word, plays the faceless character. This is the first time she is played by a woman. After many other disappointing sequels, this new reading should please fans of the genre.
Watch the trailer:
In the show: sadistic games, bloody scenes and very different from the original, but just as successful Cenobites. The cast also includes Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why), Hiam Abbas (Succession, Oussekine), Odessa A’Zion and Goran Višnić (Millennium).
Note that Clive Barker is back in production and that David S. Goyer – screenwriter of The Dark Knight – co-wrote the film.
In the United States, Hellraiser has received an R-rating – not recommended for people under 17 – for a US release scheduled for October 7 on the Hulu platform. The film is not yet known in France. As for Prey, Logic would like it to land on Disney+, but no official announcement has been made yet.
