On the 29th the documentary on the Italian conductor Ennio Morricone opens in Brazil


Giuseppe Tornatore’s work will be available in 15 cities

ANSA – The documentary Ennio the Masterfrom the principal Giuseppe Tornatore, will premiere in theaters of 15 Brazilian cities on 29 September. The film tells the story of the Italian master Ennio Morricone (1928-2020), one of the greatest in creating over 500 film and television soundtracks.

The film will be available in cinemas in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Vitória, Salvador, Recife, Florianópolis, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Maceió, Aracaju, Palmas, Niterói and Ribeirão Preto.

The work of the Italian director, collaborator of the maestro, approaches Morricone’s life from childhood to adulthood and tells all the Italian genius in the creation of songs for feature films that have marked the history of cinema, as in the case of the iconic whistle from For a bunch of dollars (1964) and in Three men in conflict (1966) or also in Once upon a time in America (1994) and in Paradise cinema (1988) – by Tornatore himself.

Morricone still had six nominations and two awards from Oscar – one for his career, in 2007, and another for the soundtrack of The eight hatedin Quentin Tarantinoin 2016.

The work arrives in theaters in Brazil after having been very successful 78th edition of the Venice Film Festival, held in 2021, and at the 8½ Italian Film Festival in Brazil this year. The film will be distributed by Risi Film Brasil, with the support of Bonfilm and 8½ Festa do Cinema Italiano.
