Un Si Grand Soleil: Will Claire and Ellen become friends again? Ink Maudran’s secrets to the rest of the plot

AlloCiné: The past year has been a busy one for Claire at Un Si Grand Soleil. How do you feel about the season that just ended?

Melanie Maudran : It was a very intense season! I felt the same intensity as when the series started, be it in terms of presence or stories. It was a very interesting season, very busy and very exciting for my character.

Miriam’s death was a great shock to Claire. Was Pauline Paolini’s departure a surprise to you?

Yes, of course. It was quite unexpected. This happens in series like Un Si Grand Soleil. There are arrivals and departures. It’s a bit of a game, I was very attached to Polina and her character. We really found a cadence and a rhythm and an understanding that was really nice. I was sad that he left. Then it also served a very strong plot. Obviously, when someone leaves, especially when it’s a character like this, it also takes on very different emotional terrains that are interesting for the show.

Claire-Miriam friendship was one of the main events of the series. Here’s hoping Claire finds such a beautiful friendship…

Me too because, coincidentally, between the disappointment with Ellen (Sophie Le Tellier) and Mirian’s death, Claire has no one left. He has a family, but no friends anymore. And it’s still good to use that side of his story.

The story around Elena was one of the main events of the last season. Claire has always been a sympathetic character who forgives easily, but that’s not the case with Helen at all…

The authors sometimes take us to unexpected places, so Elena and Claire may reconcile. But I think as it is, he’s gone too far. I think Claire will calm down at some point if she really sees that Helen isn’t her anymore.

Claire will have to move on, but she will never be able to wipe the slate clean. They can never be friends like before. To my great regret, moreover, because I love Sophie Le Tellier. We both have fun. Now that there’s a warm understanding between Claire and Ellen, and that they’ll find themselves in some intrigue, especially around work, maybe. It will be a surprise.

Can you tell us a little more about what will happen between Claire and Ellen in the next episodes?

Strange, strange things will happen that will bring Claire back to Ellen. Claire and Florentine have just arrived in a neighborhood known to be peaceful, but my character finds dead animals near the house, a broken mailbox. Claire is immediately suspicious of Helen. Obviously, this will create tension with her father as she falls in love in turn.

True, in addition to all this, there is a budding love affair between Victor and Elena, which Claire can’t stand…

This is the worst thing I think (laughs). Personally, I find it difficult to be someone who interferes in the life of one of the people you love the most and who suddenly takes up all the space.

The situation will end up creating tension with Florent (Fabre Deville), right?

Yes, because Florent sees no harm. He is a character who always has good intentions. As Helen’s condition is determined to be drug-related, she doesn’t really understand Claire’s vision. Obviously, this affects family life. Florenti will manage as much as he can with great speed and understanding, but there are times when he will get fed up. It makes sense (laughs).

Even though it was indeed proven that her behavior was drug induced, one can’t help but wonder if Helen could still be manipulative. Will we ever get an answer?

Probably, but it’s something that will develop over time through Helen’s character. It will depend on the direction it takes.

Along with all of this, we finally get to see Claire and Florentine’s new home that the writers have been teasing for months…

Yes, there are still happy moments in all of this. Joy returns to the house because they have this new project. It is very pleasant and leads to beautiful family moments. And then this is a very nice house in the center of Montpellier.

Will the family finally be reunited with the return of Enzo (Teilo Azais)?

Yes, all’s well that ends well (laughs).

Speaking of this blended family, how do you feel about the beautiful relationship that brings Claire and Kira together?

I really like the relationship that is building between Claire and Kira (Colin Ramos-Pinto). Kira apparently became his daughter. Will anything be official? Either way, I wish I could go further and officially become his daughter. Claire is very attached to Kira. Even if the beginning was a bit laborious, there is a real tenderness between them.

Kira is currently experiencing her first heartbreak over Louis. Will Claire support him in this ordeal?

Claire sees Kira becoming a woman and has her first romantic feelings. Claire is there, but not quite present. On the contrary, he is there if he needs, to listen, to support, to pull him out if he is depressed. In short, it accompanies.

Will it end between Kira and Louis (Sylvain Bocara)?

I have absolutely no idea. I don’t know what the authors are cooking for us with this story.

You are on France 2 about three months ago. What’s in store for your character in the coming weeks?

It took me a little bit of time, so Claire won’t be on screen much. I think after that we’ll start something again focused on family life, new house and kids. This is one of the reasons why we changed the scenery. I’ve been very attached to the environment I’ve been in for four years, but it’s better to be in a bigger environment to develop family intrigue. And then Florent has a better situation. It was no longer consistent to stay in a small apartment.

Do you think Theo (Gary Genner), Claire’s son, might return one day?

Gary is on other projects. He does a lot of theater so I don’t think so.

Did you have a relationship with him?

of course ! We had a very, very strong bond with Gary. I am very sorry to see him go.

Do you have wishes for Claire? Topics you want to protect?

I find that serves me pretty well in terms of things to protect. I have already touched a lot. The latest one, about manipulation, turned out to be particularly interesting because it is a hot topic. There is also blended family life. It has become so normal that I find it enjoyable to show the family of people who have chosen themselves. This is a different scheme and I think it is good.

Do you have any other upcoming projects you can talk about?

I’m going to shoot Cassandra next week. I’m excited to be a part of this series, I love the episode timing. I really like Gwendolyn Hammon and Dominique Pinon.

Would you consider making separate films for France Télévisions with Un Si Grand Soleil?

It remains at the will of both parties, but it all depends on the period. This year, for example, Claire was very involved in intrigue. It’s hard to get out and find the right time to do other things. But there I have time to do Cassandra anyway. We are going step by step.
