Writer-producer Vince Gilligan, creator of “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul”, is already developing a new series on Apple TV +. And it will mark a reunion between him and one of the stars of the recently completed “Better Call Saul”.
Gilligan has announced that Rhea Seehorn (Kim Wexler on “Better Call Saul”) will play a lead role in the new, as yet untitled attraction produced by Sony Pictures TV.
The move to Apple TV + will also mark a new partnership between Gilligan and streaming chiefs Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht, who were presidents of Sony Pictures TV when they gave the green light to produce “Breaking Bad” in 2008. They will successfully preside over Apple. TV +.
Plot details and the nature of Seehorn’s character are kept under wraps, but Gilligan indicated in a statement that the new series will not be an anti-hero story like the previous two series.
“After 15 years, I realized it was time to stop writing anti-heroes, and who is more heroic than the brilliant Rhea Seehorn?” Gilligan said. “It’s been a long time for her to have her show and I feel lucky to be able to work with her. And what a beautiful symmetry to still be with Zack Van Amburg, Jamie Erlicht and Chris Parnell! Jamie and Zack were the first two people to say. say yes to “Breaking Bad” all those years ago. They built a great team at Apple and my wonderful longtime partners at Sony Pictures Television and I are thrilled to do business with them. “
Production is still in its early stages and does not have a preview date yet.
