Who hasn’t heard of Charlie and his Charlie’s Angels? The iconic 70s detective series is the one that started it all. Created by Ivan Goff and Ben Roberts – and produced by Aaron Spelling – Charlie’s Angels (or Charlie’s Angels VO) first aired on September 22, 1976 on ABC. The show follows the adventures of three women who work in a private detective agency in Los Angeles.
Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Jacqueline Smith star as the Merry Ladies for the first time, alongside David Doyle as Bosley. Meanwhile, John Forsyth voiced their legendary boss, the invisible Charlie Townsend, who ran the Angels’ crime-fighting operations via speakerphone for just 5 seasons.
Cheryl Ladd joins the cast following the departure of Farrah Fawcett, and Shelley Hack will make her series debut following the departure of Kate Jackson. Huck will be replaced by Tanya Roberts.
Popular with audiences, the series was a Nielsen Top 10 hit for its first two seasons. Charlie’s Angels has since grown into a franchise that spawned a series of blockbuster movies in the 2000s, a television reboot in 2011, and another feature film in 2019.

Bosley and Charlie’s Angels are tasked with following the trail of Joe Dunworth (Gary Wood), who stole $200,000 from his employer. So, at the beginning of the episode, Bosley joins Kelly (Jacqueline Smith), who is posted outside the suspect’s apartment. Both are waiting in their cars for the right moment to get to know each other.
As Danworth prepares to leave, Kelly and Bosley get out of their cars. Kelly begins questioning the suspect, but when he gets behind the wheel of his own car and turns his back on her, he pulls out a gun and threatens her.
However, Danworth also had time to reach for his own gun in the passenger seat and immediately opened fire, striking the unsuspecting detective in the head. Bosley quickly manages to knock out the criminal before joining an unconscious Kelly on the lawn. He urges the neighbors, who are slowly pouring in, to call the police as he holds Kelly’s lifeless body.

When Chris (Cheryl Ladd) and Julie (Tanya Roberts) arrive at the crime scene, Kelly is rushed to the hospital. It’s a very emotional Bossley, accompanied by the other two angels, who we later find in the waiting room waiting to hear from their friend.

Bosley then recalls the last time they met in this hospital: he was a patient. Bosley finally reassures them: they are a winning team and now is not the time to doubt ourselves, it won’t help Kelly. Chris apologizes and admits that he’s just scared for his friend. Bosley is scared too, but he wants a deal: from this moment on, and no matter what happens to Kelly, they have to promise themselves that everything was worth it. After all, they will have to die one day and that will not undo what they lived for.

Chris accepts and is even proud of the cases they have solved, some of which have really made an impact. Julie wants to know more. Flashback to episodes 17 and 18 Season 3, “Bloody Snow,” in which the Angels hunt down a missing government agent. Chris tells him that they finally found him, but it was too late and that’s where he had his first ski lesson, which we still attend. Dr. Jackson returns to announce that Dr. Stedman has arrived and that the latter is requesting a new scanner before surgery. At Kelly’s bedside in a coma, the two doctors tending to her are very concerned. Chris, he tries to join Charlie, to no avail. Bosley thinks he’s on his way. Chris points out that if there was ever a time to finally show up, this was it. They are disappointed that they are not hearing from them and wonder why this is happening to anyone Kelly.
Flashback to Season 4 Episode 15, “You Gotta Know How to Do Everything.” Indeed, Chris returns to the case when Kelly fought to help her father, a child beaten by a police officer, and did everything to get custody of him.

But this is not the only time that Kelly left no stone unturned to help someone, even those who harmed him. Flashback to Season 4 Episode 4, “Revenge of the Ladies”: Bosley recalls the time Kelly tried to help Frank Desmond, who wanted revenge for putting him in jail. He then injected heroin into her veins, and later the men she stole the drugs from thought Desmond and Kelly were partners and went after them.
Dr. Jackson returned: the operation was over, they had done all they could. All that remains is to hold hands and pray.

Later that night, while Bosley and Chris are sleeping in the waiting room, Julie strikes up a conversation with the nurse on duty in the living room, who advises her to go home. But there he receives a signal from the intensive care unit where Kelly is. Something is wrong and the nurse makes the announcement and immediately calls Dr. Jackson and Stedman.
Chris and Bhosli wake up and everyone is worried. Unable to wait in the waiting room without news, they began to wander through the corridors and found themselves in the hospital chapel, each of them sitting in prayer with tears in their eyes.

Later, they are interrupted by two doctors: Dr. Jackson comes out and announces that Miss Garrett wants to see them. He adds that he thought he had lost it, thought of an embolism, but thanks to the anticoagulant, everything is back to normal: he is out of trouble, awake, and asks to see them.
But behind Dr. Jackson and next to Dr. Steadman is a doctor wearing a green lab coat and surgical mask. Bosley looks at the man, only his eyes are visible, and begins to smile. Before leaving, the man answers with a nod: It was Charlie, who then appeared for the first and last time on the screen.
