HBO has released the first teaser for “The Last of Us”, a series based on the game of the same name, which features Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey (both previously in “Game of Thrones”) as post-apocalyptic survivors Joel and Ellie, respectively. The cast also includes Gabriel Luna (“Terminator: Dark Fate”), Nico Parker (“Dumbo”), Murray Bartlett (“The White Lotus”), Merle Dandridge (“The Flight Attendant”) and Anna Torv (“Mindhunter”) .
The adaptation is by Craig Mazin, author of the award-winning miniseries “Chernobyl”, and will be directed by the Russian Kantemir Balagov (awarded at the Cannes Film Festival 2019 for “A Tall Woman”), by the Bosnian Jasmila Žbanić (from “Quo Vadis, Aida? “, Best European Film at the European Academy Awards) and by the Iranian Ali Abbasi (Best Director in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival in 2018 for the disturbing” Border “, also known as” Gräns ”).
