“It was too early” to replace Chadwick Boseman, says Kevin Feige

After the tragic death of actor Chadwick Boseman, the character of T’Challa is left without a replacement, despite the sequel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is on the way.

The beginnings of the Black Panther stories in the Marvel Cinematic Universe centered around the character of Boseman, from his introduction in “Captain America: Civil War”, to the solo film “Black Panther” and his major participation in “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Ultimatum”.

However, Marvel has decided not to replace Chadwick Boseman in the new Black Panther film, which will not be T’Challa. Instead of putting another actor as the main character and replacing the actor, Marvel has opted for a different approach to the history of Wakanda, which will also serve to honor Boseman’s memory.

However, the decision is not unanimous among fans, with some of them seeing a problem with Marvel not telling stories with T’Challa, which, in their opinion, can detract from the importance of the character and everything he represents.

Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, commented on the decision in an interview with Empire magazine. “It seemed like it was too early [substituir Chadwick Boseman]He said, comparing his approach to what is done in the Marvel comics. “Stan Lee has always said that Marvel represents the world outside his window. And we talked about how, as extraordinary and fantastic as our characters and our stories are, there is a recognizable human element in everything we do. The world is still processing the loss of Chad. and Ryan [Coogler, o diretor do filme] put it in history “.

Once Feige and Coogler decided which direction they wanted to go, they went on to create a major sequel. “The conversations were all about, yes, ‘What are we going to do next?'” Explained Feige. “And how will Chadwick’s legacy continue and what he has done to help Wakanda and Black Panther become these incredible, ambitious and iconic ideas? That’s what it was about. “

Exactly how it will happen, we will only know after the premiere of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, which will arrive in Brazilian cinemas on November 10 this year.
