THE Netflix have released the trailer and preview date for their new thriller series: Welcome to the neighborhood. The announcement was made during Tudum over the weekend, when the streaming service also unveiled the first trailer of the production.
With executive production by Ryan Murphy (American horror story) and Ian Brennan (Dahmer: an American cannibal), The observer (English title) promises to be a breathtaking thriller. The plot will follow Dean and Nora, a couple who just bought their dream home in the New Jersey City suburb of Westfield.

Happy and fulfilled, they have imagined living the life they have always wanted, but soon after moving they realize that the neighborhood is not welcoming at all. In addition, they begin to receive anonymous letters signed “O Vigia”. Having no idea what is going on, the couple must find a way out of this situation.
Story based on real events
There is nothing scarier than knowing that a horror or thriller series is based on a true storyand this is the case with Welcome to the neighborhood. The plot is inspired by the life of the Broaddus family, who in 1905 also began to receive threatening anonymous letters.

Despite police investigations at the time, the authorship of the letters was never discovered and the couple were eventually forced to leave the house. As they were unable to sell it, they decided to rent it and the new tenant also reported receiving a mysterious letter.

At the time, the song reached the top 10 of charts around the world, as well as being nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song. Now, for the Netflix series, the song has been remixed to get a more “creepy” tone and better fit the storyline.
