In 2014, Oleg Stefchenko directed the adventure film The Legend of Wie, loosely adapted from the fantasy tale. Vii by Nikoloz Gogol. Five years later, he returns to lead his sequel, The Mystery of the Dragon Seal – La Légende du Dragon. Released on VOD in France in 2020, the feature film enjoys a telecast tonight on W9.
In this second opus, which combines action, adventure, fantasy and history, British comedian Jason Fleming reprises his role as explorer Jonathan Green. This time his character was ordered by Tsar Peter the Great to draw a map of Eastern Russia.
After a long journey, he arrives in China, where he has strange encounters with strange creatures, Chinese princesses, and where he has to meet martial arts masters.
Among the supporting roles are two of the biggest stars of the 80s action movie, who meet each other on screen for the first time: Jackie Chan and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Also co-producers of the film, the latter are surrounded by Charles Dance, Helen Yao or even Rutger Hauer in one of his last films.
