Episode 6 of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” premiered this Friday (30), bringing action like we’ve never seen in the series so far.
Most of the episode takes place in the Southern Lands, also showing Númenor’s ships heading there with Queen Regent Míriel (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) and 500 men to fight Sauron’s threat alongside Galadriel (Morfydd). Clark).
But the people of the Southern Lands who have resisted Adar’s (Joseph Mawle) demands must first implement a detailed plan to escape the hands of the orc’s “father”.
Although the action is the highlight of the episode, the interactions between the characters are also very important. Galadriel has an in-depth conversation with Isildur (Max Baldry), while Arondir (Ismael Cruz Córdova) and Bronwyn (Nazanin Boniadi) also have meaningful dialogue in preparation for battle. The same goes for Bronwyn and his son Theo (Tyroe Muhafidin), who star in an emotional moment in the episode, and Galadriel and Halbrand (Charlie Vickers), who find inner peace together.
However, as already mentioned, the action is the climax of the episode, from the beginning with the orcs and Adar preparing for battle (in another profound speech) in the first scene of the chapter, until the last glimpse we get first. the screen goes dark and the closing credits music takes over.
A great reunion takes place in the Southlands, with battles full of twists and turns and moments of tension, with important characters in danger. From the terrifying traps, to the arrival of unexpected help, to the catastrophic action of a man faithful to the forces of evil.
Finally, while it’s interesting to see a series like “Rings of Power” slowly unfolding, expanding characters and unraveling little mysteries little by little, this was arguably the best episode so far, with an unexpected script, compelling interpretations. and moments of tension from start to finish.
As for the mystery of the Stranger’s identity and what happened to him and his hairy feet after they were first spotted in Episode 5, we’ll have to wait for the next few episodes to find out more.
The first six episodes of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” are available on Prime Video. The seventh episode, which will be the penultimate episode of this first season, will arrive on the platform in the early hours of next Friday (7).
