With just over two months since its release in French cinemas (if the latter is confirmed), Black Panther – Wakanda Forever talks about mourning and legacy in a new trailer. and shows Chadwick Boseman’s successor.
“Only the most broken people can be great leaders.” Director Ryan Coogler made this clear. The first trailer already showed it. And another confirms it: the notion of mourning will be at the heart of Black Panther – Wakanda Forever, echoing the team’s death in August 2020 of Marvel superhero interpreter Chadwick Boseman.
New images that highlight the parallels between Wakanda and the people of Namor’s (Tenoch Huerta) kingdom, who will apparently go to war in the feature film. No doubt because of the third force to which the soldiers we see here belong, and whose role is still unclear.
Featured in the first trailer that confirmed his presence in the film, Namor of Atlantean appears to have a key role in the evolution of the main characters and his vast wisdom acquired over thousands of years. They take on T’Challa and then assume his legacy. And as such, the trailer gives a great new insight into who will be taking on the character suit. Like a new poster.
In the center of the poster, in front of the Black Panther mask, Shuri (Letitia Wright) is sure to inherit the costume and the responsibilities of the superhero. And the end of the trailer seems to confirm that when “Let’s show who we are” De Rolanda (Angela Bassett) accompanies a shot of her daughter in the midst of a burning room before Wakanda’s new protector appears in uniform. A sequence that is clearly not trivial.
The standoff between poster and edit seems to be coming to an end. But the mask will never be removed, a sign that Marvel is still keeping the identity of the new Black Panther a secret. Or the appearance of Ironheart (Dominic Thorne), who has been given Iron Man’s successor thanks to Tony Stark’s technology and whom we briefly see in action.
With this very nice trailer, Black Panther – Wakanda forever confirms the good impression left by the first one, but keeps a little under the elbow for its release in cinemas in France on November 9th. If the latter is confirmed, as Disney may also decide to send it directly to Disney+ in France, if discussions around the media timeline planned for Tuesday, October 4th do not lead to a satisfactory conclusion for the studio.
