The documentary film dedicated to the Hollywood star “Brad Pitt – Blonde Revenge” airs Sunday evening on Arte. A film that has been available online for several weeks, which stands out for the richness of its archives.
Recently back in the headlines with the feature film Bullet Train, American actor Brad Pitt is paying homage to Arte this Sunday evening with a thrilling documentary airing at 11pm. Titled Brad Pitt – The Revenge of a Blond, it will be available on Arte.tv until November 14.
Directed by Thibaut Sev and Adrienne Denuet, the duo we also owe the very good Jim Carrey documentary America Unmasked, the film chronologically develops Brad Pitt’s career. Based on an impressive filmography, Brad Pitt – Blonde Revenge traces the unexpected trajectory of a cinephile and daring actor who managed to break free from the shackles of glamour. The actor, who has not stopped breaking the archetypal image of the sex symbol during his thirty-year career, tried to overcome the “curse” of the oh-so-profitable physique.
Particularly generous with archival footage, the documentary, if it doesn’t contain any startling revelations, still offers a rather fascinating portrait of Brad Pitt in its 52 minutes, which flies by like a gust of wind. This is a talented star who has sacrificed everything for his art, an actor who is skilled in all registers, who can make fun of himself. And can also become a sharp businessman by starting his own production company to support more modest projects and escape the sometimes very blinding light.
The documentary, filled with interviews with great figures who collaborated with Brad Pitt (Tarantino, David Fincher…), finally does not miss the darkest side of the star, who suffered from alcoholism for many years. And finally manages to reveal that part of loneliness that makes millions of fans adore the community.
