Netflix finally launched this Monday (17) a long-awaited feature requested by its streaming subscribers: profile transfer.
“With the profile transfer, your Netflix experience remains the same, even if everything around you changes,” Netflix said in an announcement made in a press release on its website.
With the transfer, it will be possible to transfer profiles within one account to another paid subscription, with the user keeping their personalized recommendations, viewing history, content added to My List, saved games, among other settings.
According to Netflix, the feature will be enabled worldwide starting Monday (17). Users will receive email notifications when profile transfer is available on their account.
When the feature is already available, users wishing to transfer their profile to a new paid account only need to hover their cursor over their profile icon in the menu located at the top of the Netflix home page and access the “Transfer profile”.
After making this selection, just follow the instructions presented by Netflix. You can also disable profile transfer at any time by going to your account settings. This is the first time that a streaming service has launched this feature, which is highly requested by subscribers.
The feature is useful for people who share accounts with other users, whether between family, couples or friends. When that “company” is over, the user who left one account to open another ended up having to start their Netflix experience from scratch, losing their viewing and production history saved in My List. You will now be able to transfer everything to a new Netflix account.
