The director of ‘Venom: There will be slaughter’ prepares an animated adaptation of the classic dystopian fable of 1945
After triumphing at the box office with ‘Venom: There will be slaughter’, Andy Serkis He already has a new project as director. Is about a new animated adaptation of ‘Animal Farm’, the dystopian novel by George Orwell.
The fable, published in 1945, sees a group of farm animals rebel against their human owner in hopes of creating a society where they can be equal, free and happy. It was named by Time magazine as one of the 100 best novels in English between 1923 and 2005., and earned Orwell a Retrospective Hugo Award. It has been adapted numerous times for radio and theater, as well as for cinema with John Hallas Y Joy Batchelor mounting a film adaptation in 1954, and John Stephenson turning it into a television movie on TNT in 1999.
Behind the project are the producers Aniventure and The ImaginariumSerkis’ own company, and Nicholas Stoller (screenwriter of ‘Cigüeñas’ and ‘Capitán Underpants’) has been commissioned to write the script for a project that has already begun to get under way in the cinesite studioscelebrating their 30th anniversary.

A pioneer of Emmy and Golden Globe nominated performance capture, Serkis recently appeared as Alfred in “The Batman” opposite Robert Pattinson.
