I send my love and my deepest condolences to his family, especially his children.”
I’ll never know anyone remotely like Robbie again. He was an incredible talent, a complete one off, and I was beyond fortunate to know him, work with him and laugh my head off with him. I send my love and deepest condolences to his family of him, above all his children of him. pic.twitter.com/tzpln8hD9z

I will miss the random chats about all subjects under the sun. And I’ll never forget in September 2000, Robbie Coltrane came over to a very nervous 14yr old me on my 1st ever day on a movie set and said “Enjoy it, you ‘ll be great. Thank you for that x

Love you mate – thanks for everything.”

I’ll never forget the smell of cigars and beard glue, a wonderful combination. No one else on this planet could having played Hagrid, just Robbie. As Hagrid was in the books and movies, Robbie was in life: warm, compassionate and hilarious. A man with a giant heart who still looked out for us even decades later. Much love to his family. see the other side, Bobser”
Emma Watson shared some nice words for Hagrid through Instagram stories: “Robbie was like the funniest uncle I’ve ever had, but above all, he was very loving and compassionate to me, as a child and as an adult. His talent was so immense that it makes sense That he played a giant, he could fill any space with his brilliance. Robbie, if I ever get the chance to be as kind as you were to me on a set, I promise I will do it in your name and memory. You know how much I love and admire you. I truly miss your sweetness, your nicknames, your warmth, your laughter and your hugs. You made us a family. You know you were that to us. There was no better Hagrid. You made it a pleasure that it was Hermione.” .
And Harry Potter himself, aka Daniel Radcliffe, said that “Robbie was one of the funniest people I’ve ever met and he used to make us laugh constantly when we were kids on set. I have especially fond memories of him keeping our spirits up on ‘The Prisoner of Azkaban’, when we all hid from the pouring rain for hours in Hagrid’s hut and he would tell stories and joke around to keep morale up.”
Other actors have also had words for the actor. Stephen Fry said that I met him 40 years ago. He was amazed/terrified/in love all at the same time. I first met Robbie Coltrane almost exactly 40 years ago. I was awe/terror/love struck all at the same time. Such depth, power & talent: funny enough to cause helpless hiccups & honking as we made our first TV show, “Alfresco”. Farewell, old fellow. You’ll be so dreadfully missed

I hope it’s OK to spout memories: I used to ride with Robbie Coltrane between Manchester and London in his sort-of-restored MGA. I’d roll him cigarettes while he discoursed on the ways of the world, and I don’t think I’ve ever laughed or learned so much in my life.
