Dwayne Johnson has realized his dream of portraying his childhood superhero: Black Adam. The film, which hits theaters on October 19, takes us to ancient Kahndak, where the slave Tet Adam received superpowers from the gods.
But he used it for revenge and ended up in prison. Five millennia later, when he was freed, he brought his very dark vision of justice to the world.
Refusing to give up, Tate Adam must face a group of modern-day heroes who make up the Justice Society – Hawkman, Dr. Face, Atom Smasher and Cyclone – who intend to send him to prison for life.
A cameo that will change everything
At the end of the feature film, after defeating the supervillain Sabak, Black Adam receives a holographic call from Amanda Waller, the notorious Suicide Squad commander.
The latter, quite vengeful, orders him not to cross the borders of Kahndak, under penalty of sending him power from another world.
Black Adam, not about to be controlled by Waller and his organization, sends a blast of energy towards the leader’s hologram. Then a cloud of dust rises, obscuring the silhouette from the sky.
Hovering in the shadows, this enigmatic character is finally revealed in full light in his red and blue suit emblazoned with an S across the chest. Superman, played by Henry Cavill, confronts Black Adam, camped out by Johnson, a prelude to a titanic confrontation.
“Black Adam, we need to talk”, Son of Krypton declares before the sequence ends. After appearing on the big screen in 2017’s Justice League, Superman is officially back in DC.
