After much speculation that comic book villain Mephisto would be in “WandaVision” – which he didn’t – now rumors point to the character’s debut in the MCU in “Ironheart”, and he would be played by Sacha Baron Cohen, the Borat.
Rumors of Mephisto’s entry into the MCU surfaced during weekly Marvel Disney + series “WandaVision” releases, with fan theories pointing to the villain as the “puppeteer” who would play with the sitcom characters. However, we soon discovered that it was actually Wanda who created the illusion in Westview.
When it became clear that Mephisto was not involved, many fans were disappointed, but now, a possible leak suggests that the Marvel villain will appear in the Disney + series “Ironheart”, or “Iron Heart”, and that Mephisto will be portrayed. none other than Sacha Baron Cohen.
The rumor gains even more strength with information revealed by Deadline magazine that the British comedian is at Pinewood Studios, Marvel’s UK facilities. This “brazen” speculation has escalated speculation and conversation about rumors of his involvement having already reached the set in Atlanta, United States.
Mephisto is a demon introduced in Marvel comics in the 1960s as the antagonist of the Silver Surfer and Johnny Blaze the Ghost Rider. During his comic book career, Mephisto faced characters like Doctor Strange and Spider-Man and was responsible for turning Harry and Norman Osborn into villains. The character was created by Stan Lee and artist John Buscema.
If Sacha Baron Cohen arrives at the MCU as Mephisto in “Ironheart”, it is possible that he will also appear in the “WandaVision” spin-off, “Agatha: Coven of Chaos”.
Iron Heart, aka Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), will make his MCU debut in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” which hits theaters in November. Thereafter, Thorne will star in the same Disney + series, reprising her role inspired by Tony Stark.
The series, with or without Sacha Baron Cohen’s Mephisto, will debut on Disney + in late 2023.
