If American Horror Story seasons are usually revealed with a lot of clues, this one keeps its mystery until the very end. As its official title, AHS: NYC, suggests, this new chapter will be immersed in 80s New York, and more specifically, the homosexual milieu of the time.
A serial killer decides to attack the LGBT community. Meanwhile, a strange virus is spreading. This Season 11 is inspired by William Friedkin’s classic, La Chasse – Cruising. This controversial thriller, directed by Al Pacino, features a detective who infiltrates the gay sadomasochistic world of New York.
Original creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk return for this eleventh season. They are joined by other writers such as Our Lady J – who has already collaborated on the Pose series – Manny Cotto (American Horror Story), as well as actor Charlie Carver, who wrote the season 4 episode.
Series regulars return, including Zachary Quinto, Patti LuPone, Billie Lourd, Sandra Bernhard, Isaac Powell, Rebecca Diane, Leslie Grossman and Dennis O’Hare. Joining the party next to them are new faces like Joe Mantello, Charlie CarverRussell Tovey and Cal Penn.
The eccentricities of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are always worth watching. The anticipation for this 11th season is all the greater as not a single picture has been released before the series airs. Only a few seconds of small teasers revealed these subliminal hints and the promise: “A season like no other“.
This rumor is even confirmed by one of the actors of the series, Dennis O’Hare, who starts several presenters: “You will be in a new world, with new music, new aesthetics… It’s not just a story, it’s also a cultural environment. something will happen. One hell of a ride, so hang on to your seat.“
