George RR Martin, author of the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series, was interviewed by host Stephen Colbert on the Late Show and talked about his views on the “Game of Thrones” universe, as well as updating fans on progress of your new book.
Martin’s new work will be called “The Winds of Winter” and will be the sixth novel in the high fantasy literary series that is expected to conclude with the seventh work. According to the writer, the book is not ready yet, but there has been considerable progress in the narrative advancement.
“I think it’s going to be a very big book. The biggest books so far have been the third volume, “A Storm of Swords”, and the fifth volume, “A Dance with Dragons”. Both were about 1,500 pages long. This will be bigger than both of them, ”Martin said.
“I’d say I’m done for about three quarters. All the characters are intertwined, so I’m really done with some characters, I have their whole story but not others. So I have to finish all this, but it will take a while. “
