Upper East Siders, tremble: the master schemer is back! HBO Max showed a new portion of footage from the second season of the Gossip Girl reboot (reboot), and one of them shows a grown-up Georgina Sparks played by Michelle Trachtenberg.
TV show executive producer Joshua Safran told Teen Vogue that, just like the original Gossip Girl, Georgina will bring turmoil to Manhattan’s slow-paced life:
What she brought to the original series was anarchy,” says Safran. She is an anarchist. She will do anything and only for the reason she sees fit. We brought that energy into the first Gossip Girl and brought it back into the second. She’s the same and it’s great. Michelle, Georgina and we all got older, but Georgina still has the same energy. She is out of time.
Safran added that Michelle was excited to be back with her character:
Michelle has immersed herself in the role so thoughtfully that she certainly knows what she has to do, knows how she will fit into this universe.
The Gossip Girl reboot premieres July 8 on HBO Max. In principle, the plot still tells about the life of golden youth in an elite school in New York, which is turned upside down with the launch of an anonymous resource that publishes gossip about students. However, in the series up to this point there was not a single familiar character from the favorite series of the zero.
