The actor Andrew Garfield explained in a recent interview the danger associated with the role of Spider-Man, a Marvel character that the actor lived between 2012 and 2014, and recently returned to play in a special participation in “Spider-Man :No Return Home”. .
Garfield gave a long interview to the magazine Quality checkwhere he spoke about his experience as the iconic Marvel character, who he portrayed in the 2012 reboot ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ when he was just 26 years old.
“I’m like, ‘Shit, that was a lot to deal with. That’s a lot of shit to deal with.’ And I wanted to accept that,” he said. “I was ready. I was so ready for it. It didn’t feel heavy. But I think there were elements that felt like a lot… I felt like I was in danger to myself, in terms of fame and visibility.”
He continued: “Even though I took over [O Espetacular Homem-Aranha]I was like, ‘I want to make sure I can do this [as peças de teatro] ‘Angels in America’ and ‘Death of a Salesman’ in a few years.’ I want to be a stage actor first because it seems like a perennial thing. If I can do theater for the rest of my life for an audience of 50 a night, I know my life will be fulfilling. It’s not me being talkative, I really know.
Andrew Garfield starred in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man in 2012 and its sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014. The sequel received largely negative reviews from critics and audiences, although a third film was greenlit from Sony, with a project launching in 2016.
Those plans were later scrapped when Marvel and Sony reached a deal for Spider-Man to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a role filled by Tom Holland.
Thus, despite never having starred in a third Spider-Man film, Garfield returned to live the Web Head in 2021, in “Spider-Man: No Going Home”, due to the chaos in the multiverse caused by the Spider of Holland and Doctor Strange. Therefore, fans of the hero could see the meeting of Holland’s Spider-Man, Garfield and Tobey Maguire.
