“I’m like, ‘Shit, that was a lot to deal with. That’s a lot of shit to deal with.’ And I wanted to accept that,” he said. “I was ready. I was so ready for it. It didn’t feel heavy. But I think there were elements that felt like a lot… I felt like I was in danger to myself, in terms of fame and visibility.”
He continued: “Even though I took over [O Espetacular Homem-Aranha]I was like, ‘I want to make sure I can do this [as peças de teatro] ‘Angels in America’ and ‘Death of a Salesman’ in a few years.’ I want to be a stage actor first because it seems like a perennial thing. Those plans were later scrapped when Marvel and Sony reached a deal for Spider-Man to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a role filled by Tom Holland.
