Bianca Caloi Di Grassi uses computer language in her works
Computer language mixed with inspirational messages. This is the proposal of the Brazilian artist Bianca Calòi Di Grassi – which is attracting the attention of galleries in Europe and Japan. What Bianca has done is to use the so-called binary code to create her art and communicate coded expressions with poetry.
“I call my art binary emotions, to use the binary code to express emotions. And that has a lot to do with me, with my style of simplifying what is complex,” says Bianca, who is Ana Maria’s daughter Diniz and is married to Formula E driver Lucas di Grassi.
Bianca opens a new exhibition in December, at the Rothschild Bank, in Monaco, where she lives. Over there, one of her admirers is the Prince of Monaco, Albert II, who has one of her works in her palace.
One of the São Paulo native’s paintings recently received a bid of R$40,000 at a charity auction by the NGO Parceiros da Educação. In this work she was inspired by the draftsman, engraver and sculptor Henri Matisse and wrote a sentence of the artist in binary language: “Work heals everything”.

Igor Rodrigues opens the 1st individual in SP
The artist Igor Rodríguez opens today his first solo exhibition in São Paulo at the Galeria Frente. The Things Lit Inside exhibition is curated by Carollina Lauriano. At the age of 27 and self-taught, Rodrigues presents around 25 unpublished works. The basis of his creative repertoire are his experiences and reflections. The title of the show was inspired by the song Lágrimas Negras, performed by Gal Costa. Galeria Frente is located at Rua Dr. Melo Alves, 400 – Cerqueira César.
Tribute to David Bowie on Avenida Paulista
Next Wednesday, the Cisne Negro dance company will present the Ziggy show at the Avenida Paulista entrance to the 3 Mall. The piece is a tribute to David Bowie (1947-2016). The choreography, signed by Mário Nascimento, has nine dancers on stage. Nascimento is also responsible for the soundtrack based on Bowie’s discography. The Brazilian costume designer Fábio Namatame has reinterpreted the looks used by the artist.
