At the end of 2018, the unexpected success at the box office was undoubtedly a bohemian rhapsody. Still, a mixed-media musical biographical film dedicated to the Queen created the event, drawing millions of viewers into the dark rooms, before winning several Oscars, including Best Actress Sculpture for Rami Malek, translated by Freddie Mercury.
Faced with such success, the extension project was not mentioned for long, namely by Queen’s guitarist, Brian May. Bohemian Rhapsody Only part of Mercury’s life really fit the screen (the film ends with a reproduction of a Live Aid concert in 1985, six years before the singer’s death). What if the movie “Recipe” will not be used again for another biography dedicated to music legends?
The film’s screenwriter Anthony McCartney actually wrote the screenplay for the feature film I Wanna Dance With Somebody, a biographical film dedicated to the life and career of singer Whitney Houston. Directed by Cassie Lemons, the feature film will hit our screens on December 21st.
A few months ago we also learned that the New Zealand screenwriter is also starting to write a biographical series dedicated to the Irish band U2 and its no less famous singer Bono. The project – which has not yet been the subject of an official order – was specifically designed by the Netflix platform and Jay Abrams through his company Bad Robot.
From planetary cardboard Bohemian RhapsodySo it seems like biographies are growing in Hollywood. It remains to be seen whether these next projects will be as successful as a feature film dedicated to the Queen!
Currently available on Amazon Prime Video, the movie Bohemian Rhapsody Will leave the platform catalog on April 29th!
