According to CCR Metr么 Bahia, the service is free and can be done through the company’s virtual service number. Anyone who wants to give it a try should add (71) 9688-0714 to their cell phone contacts and send a message via Zap.

A chatbot will offer all the options available through WhatsApp, with the card topping up as before. You must enter your Bahia Metro card number (15 digits) and the desired amount.

Payment by Pix

A Pix key will be generated to allow the citizen to make the payment via their bank’s app. Within seconds, the amount must be credited for use, without the need to use physical cash or stand in line at the counter.

The Bahia Metro management company reminds you that you need to swipe your card in the charge validator, present in all Metro stations, or directly at the access turnstiles to update your balance. This is an easy way to optimize transport, giving users more flexibility.

Although WhatsApp has its own payment system, the government of Bahia has preferred to implement a Pix system. Paying directly through the app is easier, but the messenger requires a debit card to send or receive money. Since not everyone has it, CCR has preferred to deal with the Pix key, a popular transfer method that has fallen in love with Brazilians.
