Netflix ‘Round 6’ star O Yeong-Su – who plays the character Oh Il-Nam, also known as Ready Player 1 – has been indicted in South Korea on charges of sexual harassment and misconduct.
The information was revealed by the Korea JoongAng Daily (via CB extension🇧🇷 According to reports, the actor was indicted by the Seongnam Branch of the Suwon District Public Prosecutor’s Office on charges of “inappropriately touching” an unidentified woman in 2017.
During the investigation, O Yeong-Su denied all the allegations made against him. His translated statement reads: “I just held her hand to guide the way around the lake. I apologized why [a pessoa] I said I wouldn’t make a fuss, but that doesn’t mean I admit the allegations.” The prosecution said it has obtained evidence of harassment against the victim and will take the case to trial.
According to reports, the case was originally brought before the authorities in December 2021 before being closed in April 2022 with no charges being filed. After the victim’s appeal, the allegations are investigated again. It is unclear whether the 78-year-old actor will appear in court and, if so, when the trial will take place.
In addition to ‘Round 6’, where he earned international fame for the Netflix series and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a Television Production in January this year for his role in the series, the South Korean actor is widely recognized for his work in theatre, film and TV.
