With the signing of these large contracts, Samsung consolidates itself even more as a competitor of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. 🇧🇷TSMC extension) — which produces the recently announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Qualcomm and is a longtime partner of apple for chips in iPhone and Mac.

TSMC suffers from the political clashes between the US and China and with both countries’ goal to have dominion over the island of Taiwan. Therefore, several smartphone makers have preferred off-island chip manufacturing for a greater guarantee of supply stability, and therefore Samsung has gained interest.

At the beginning of the year the Intel has unveiled plans to build a $100 billion factory to keep chip production on US soil and avoid heavy dependence on foreign countries.
