5 Movie Endings We’re Not Over: ‘Hachi, A Dog’s Tale’ Broke Our Hearts

“Jojo Rabbit”

Just as there are movie endings that left a lot to be desired, others moved viewers to the core. Such is the case of “Jojo Rabbit”, a film directed by Taika Waititi that hit the big screen in 2020 and featured the performance of Roman Griffin Davis and Scarlett Johansson.

The story follows Jojo, a German boy who discovers that his mother is hiding a young Jewish woman during World War II. One day, the little boy finds his mother’s body hanging in the main town square, he realizes that it is her because of her red and white shoes.
After this scene, which brought tears to the audience, the end of the film shows Elsa, the Jewish teenager, dancing with Jojo, something they both wanted to do for a long time.

“Hachi: A Dog’s Tale”

In 2009 he released “Siempre a tu lado” (for its title in Spanish). The Woman tells the story of Parker Wilson (played by Richard Gere), a college professor who picks up a puppy at a train station and forms a close bond with it.

After Parker’s death, Hachi (the dog’s name) continues his habit of waiting for his owner at the train station so they can go home together. He does so until his last day, when he has a dream in which he meets the man who took care of him.

‘Instructions not included’

Among Eugenio Derbez’s films worth seeing is “No returns are accepted” (due to its title in Spanish). The production, which hit the screen in 2013, follows Valentín, a man who takes care of his daughter Maggie after her mother left her when she was a baby.

In the end, Valentín (Eugenio Derbez) tells that the girl has a strange disease and therefore has little time to live, so they enjoy their last moments on a beach in Mexico with their mother.

“Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix”

Throughout the “Harry Potter” saga, various deaths appeared, such as that of Professor Severus Snape (Alan Rickman) or Cedric Diggory (Robert Pattinson). However, one of the most memorable by fans is that of Sirius Black (Gary Oldman), Harry’s godfather.

Moments before meeting Voldemort in “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” the young wizard and his friends face off against Death Eaters at the Ministry of Magic. During the battle, Sirius is killed by Bellatrix Lestrange.

‘The Boy in the Striped Pajamas’

In 2008, the film “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas” (title in Spanish) was released, set against the background of World War II. In it, Bruno befriends Shmuel, a Jewish boy who remains in a Nazi concentration camp and therefore wears a striped uniform.

In the final minutes of the film, Bruno enters the field where Shmuel is being held and they are both taken to a gas chamber to die.
