The president of Lucasfilm, kathleen kennedy, has reflected on the bad reception of ‘Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’.
the fourth movie from the ‘Indiana Jones’ franchise, released in 2008, was mistreated by critics when it was released, and many considered it inferior to the original classic trilogy.
Speaking to the magazine ‘Empire’, Kennedy has regretted the failure of the previous film, alluding to the fact that it had “a weaker story than previous installments”an argument with which David Koepp, the screenwriter of ‘Indiana Jones 4’, also agrees, who admits a big mistake in the film.
“You never set out to make anything more than a great movie,” he said. “Sometimes you get it perfectly, and sometimes you don’t. In the case of ‘Indiana Jones 4,’ I don’t think there was one specific aspect that any of us decided to look back on, except maybe we didn’t have a story. as strong as we wanted.”
‘Indiana Jones 5’ will be released next year, with James Mangold taking over from Steven Spielberg in the director’s chair.
