Brazil’s victory kept Serbia alive in the fight for the table
Serbia and Cameroon drew 3-3 in the second round of Group G last Monday. After the match, Serbian media even speculated about a crisis among the players, which was denied by Dusan Tadic at a press conference this Tuesday.
– We just have to be positive, there has never been a better environment. We have to give our best and we believe we will go further. I’ve been with the national team for a long time, there’s never been a better environment. Go on. An understanding has been created between the players, there is a good mix, we remain united and this is very positive. It just has to stay that way, no problem – said number 10 of the selection.
With just one point from two games, the team captain also recounted the conversation he had with the rest of the team after stumbling in the first two games.
-We talked a bit, it’s all in our hands. We are constantly together, we are constantly talking about how to be better. That’s all. We have to play the best we know how. Tadic said.
The midfielder also revealed that, as well as watching the match between Brazil and Switzerland, he was delighted and relieved by the Brazilian victory, which left the Serbs alive in the fight for a place in the round of 16.
– Honestly, I went to my room, shut up and watched the game. A few seconds before, every roar was heard from the stands, I heard a goal, they just say it’s not Switzerland… First it was offside, then joy – said Dusan.
Serbia are fourth in Group G with one point and face second-placed Switzerland with three in the final round of the group stage, who must win and count on at least one draw from Brazil to advance to the round of 16. The match is next Friday at 16:00 (Brasilia time). The Brazilian team faces Cameroon at the same time.
