One of Marvel’s nods to the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Christmas special is the gift Rocket receives from Nebula.
Kevin Bacon is the best Christmas present in the entire galaxy. Or at least that’s what we made clear from the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Christmas special that Disney+ has released expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe and introducing the terrestrial holiday in Wisdom among hundreds of aliens. But short of Kevin Bacon, the gift that Rocket receives from Nebula is not bad either. The talkative raccoon wanted to snatch the mechanical arm of the Winter Soldier Bucky Barnes in ‘Avengers: Endgame’, but he has finally obtained his long-awaited prosthesis.
The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Christmas Special Has Featured Marvel’s Most Lovable Hero, cosmo the dogas well as other nods to the UCM scattered around the adventure that Drax and Mantis live in the process of kidnapping Kevin Bacon in Los Angeles, but without a doubt the most surprising reference to the Marvel universe has been that of Bucky’s armsomething that has caught fans by surprise.
During the final battle on Earth in ‘Avengers: Endgame’, we see Bucky and Rocket team up against Thanos’ alien army. Given Rocket’s obsession with prosthetics, he repeatedly asks Bucky that “how much does that arm cost“, to which he does not respond and simply leaves, while Rocket swears: “I’ll get that arm”.
The wait paid off, as towards the end of the Disney+ special we see all the Guardians exchanging presents and Nebula surprises Rocket with said armwho is as speechless as we are to see him.
Fans have asked James Gunndirector of the Guardians movies and new head of DC, how the hell has Nebula managed the armand the director has responded directly and clearly: “She took a trip to Earth and ripped it off because she felt so Christmassy“.
She took a trip to earth and tore it off her body because she was feeling so Christmasy.

When another “fan” tries to refute this event by exposing that “Bucky would defeat Nebula. Has no sense. Like all of Phase 4, pure bullshit forced inclusion“, the filmmaker replies again: “I’m not sure how a cyborg with advanced alien technology ripping off a human’s arm due to an overabundance of Christmas Spirit is forced inclusion, but it’s canon now. I am sorry.”
I’m not sure how a cyborg with advanced alien technology tearing off a human’s arm because of an overabundance of Christmas-Spirit is forced inclusion, but now it’s canon sorry.

Anyway, the answer fits with the first images of ‘Thunderbolts’, where we can see that Bucky has a new bionic arm.…Because of Rocket? Will there be revenge? Will there be any reference in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’? There is less to find out.
