In the segment of the market that only considers browsers for PCs, the dispute is heated only between Edge, Safari and Firefox — here Chrome also leads with a large advantage (66.18%). Since March 2022, however, MS Browser has started to leap above its competitors, taking the position of the second most used program on PC.

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly why Microsoft Edge reaches this position, but theories can be advanced: MS’s insistence on encouraging the use of the browser in Windows 11, the addition of new features, and the convenience of having the program installed by default on Windows may be one of the most important reasons for this surge in popularity.

mobile phone market

The mobile browser market behaves very differently: there Chrome is still the main browser, followed by Safari (both native programs for Android and iOS, respectively), but in third place is Samsung Internet, the web browser. Creator.

Samsung’s program does not even appear in the big picture with a significant percentage, but in the mobile market its presence is noticeable. As of November 2022, the program has amassed 4.54% of the segment. While it falls well short of its biggest competitors – Chrome at 66.23% and Safari at 24.14% – it proves to be a relevant alternative.
